About Dan continued...

This organic career growth through one of the UK’s largest energy providers ensured Dan developed into a proactive and positive project manager, clearly being results driven with a high level of achievement at every stage of his career and determined to challenge himself. In May 2011, inspired by the emerging technology in the smart sector Dan decided to leave SSE and became an independent consultant to allow him to work on projects that really interested him. He worked with SSE, specifically with SSE R&D working with Ofgem Low Carbon Networks Funding (LCNF) and the Innovation Funding Incentive (IFI) programs to develop a safe working procedure for the live connection of power quality monitoring equipment, a procedure that is still in use today. His clients also included Anesco, working on large scale solar projects and Current Group, later Ormazabal, on smart grid introduction into Europe.

Throughout this period Dan worked with various construction services companies, managing sub £500,000 projects – M&B Electrical Services being one of them. Dan had known Sean since his first day at SSE, in fact Sean carried out his practical skills test at his interview when he was 17 years old!

By 2013 Dan was dedicating a significant amount of time to M&B Electrical so he made the decision to disband his consulting company and join the M&B team on a full time basis. With Sean and Dan’s combined experience, the business went from strength to strength and continued to grow and in 2015 Dan became a Director at M&B Electrical Services.
