Chris Boult1 StarAbsolutely awful service from start to finish. Took my car for a service and had it booked in for 8:30. I arrived perfectly on time and was told it would only take a couple of hours once they started and that it should be done my midday.
At about 1 o clock, more than 4 hours after I had dropped it off, I returned to see if it was ready. They said that there was no point in me returning as they'd call when it was finished, and they hadn't even started work on the car yet.
It wasn't until 2 minutes before they finish, at 17:28! I got a call to say the car was ready to pick up, it takes 30 minutes to drive there so I had to wait until the next day to get my car. Being over 24 hours without my car just because of a service was extremely unacceptable, especially when I was told it would only take a couple of hours.
What is the point of booking the earliest time, in hope that it would be done by midday, if they weren't going to start it until late afternoon. If I'd have known this I would have brought it in as late as possible and just picked it up the day after, at least this way I wouldn't have lost out on a days earnings. In fact, if I'd have known this, I would have avoided the place like the plague.
The next morning I finally got my car, it was covered in oil, filthy, and on the way home my windscreen wiper flew off. I have absolutely no idea what they had done but I will not be returning.Saturday 11th September 2021
Glen Tapper3 StarWhy do you Halfords try and charge £40 for a diagnostic when your spending £180 odd anyway. AA vans run diagnostics road side. Its no skin off your nose whilst work is being done to check it over. Plus you may get the additional work. Instead we'll take it to the garage where they'll run a diagnostic for free.Thursday 23rd September 2021
